Books about Jesus

Dick Clough introduced the congregation to several really good books during his sermon on Palm Sunday. Guess what?! We have most of them in the church library upstairs or on the little rack of current books in the narthex. Now we have added the one he mentioned that we didn’t have: Jesus: Uncovering the Life, Teachings, and Relevance of a Religious Revolutionary by Marcus Borg.

Our adult library has a wealth of good books, but we are badly in need of help in shelving many that have been donated this year. If you would be willing to give a couple hours on a Saturday morning to help with this project, please let me know (rdndjnsd@earthlink.net or 251-3671).

Calls to Serve Our Church and Other

“Here am I; send me!” Isaiah 6:8
Mission of the Month, Nicaragua Partnership: continue our partnership with the church of the Living Waters in Wiwili by helping support their endeavors. Our support will be a good neighbor effort to help our friends provide needed materials for their town and school.

Food of the Month, CANNED FRUIT: bring gifts of food to church in April to help stock Gleaner’s pantries.

Equal Exchange Coffee: purchase fair trade coffee from our coffee fellowship after worship on the second Sunday of the month. This assures a decent income to the coffee farmer and eliminates the many “middle men” that are part of the global coffee market.
School 42: help in Mrs. Barker’s Kindergarten class at School 42. Volunteers are needed daily from 9:30-11:15 a.m. or 12:30-2 p.m. with the exception of Tuesday afternoons. Mrs. Barker needs many volunteers to help with the remainder of the year. Contact Christy McIntosh at j_c_mcintosh@netzero.net for more information or to schedule a time to lend a hand. Next school year, FCC is making plans to assist with a 4th grade class as well.
